We Are All Powerful Creators

We Are All Powerful Creators

I love the work I do.

If you’ve been reading these newsletters for any length of time, you probably know that already.

Every day I get to meet amazing people who are up to something interesting in the world. Often inspiring. And I get to spend time with them in conversations that help them show up to their lives in a more impactful way.

Over time, those conversations become something else. Deeper. More honest. Conversations people aren’t having anywhere else.

And because of that, I get to build strong relationships with many of my clients.

Last week was a beautiful example of that.

On Monday, I attended something I had never experienced before.

My client Kris, who recently started working with me, was defending his PhD in Chemistry from Harvard.

One hour. Four years of work. Presented and defended in front of his faculty.

A massive moment.

When he offered me a place in the Zoom room, I jumped at it.

To be honest, I was lost after the second slide. But that didn’t matter.

Watching him speak with clarity, passion and conviction about his research is something I won’t forget.

He now has the letters PhD after his name.

On Wednesday, I had my final session with Stevie at the end of his 12-month programme.

When we started, we created his document and began to integrate it.

At the time, he was in a key role in a company he had helped to build over seven years.

But gradually, something else began to emerge.

A sense that there was more available. More freedom. More expression in his work as a chef.

Over time, that became clear.

It was time to leave.

Wednesday was his final day with Seed.

Later that afternoon we spent 90 minutes in my coaching room exploring what’s to come and what is already opening up for him.

A completely new chapter.

One he hadn’t even considered when we started.

On Saturday, I climbed Slieve Donard with my client Dougie.

He turned 40 last week and wanted to mark it in a different way.

A few weeks ago he said to me, “Pete, I’ve never climbed a mountain. I want to climb a mountain.”

Then he asked if I wanted to join him.

I didn’t hesitate.

Seven of us set off from Dungannon to Newcastle early that morning.

It was a beautiful day. Warm. Clear. Perfect.

Five hours later, we were back at the bottom.

Not the highest mountain in the world. But it rises straight out of the sea, so you feel every foot of the climb.

For Dougie, it was more than a physical mountain.

It felt like a marker.

A new chapter in how he is approaching life and the opportunities he is creating.

It was so much fun to be there.

On Sunday, I went to a rugby match.

I haven’t been to one in years. But this one mattered.

My client Andrew coaches the U14s at Dungannon Rugby Club.

A group of boys from six different schools. Brought together and developed over the season.

They had already won their league and a cup competition.

This was the final. The Billy Latimer Cup. Played at the Affidea Stadium.

For some of those boys, it will be the highlight of their sporting lives.

For others, it may just be the beginning.

I sat in the stand with my brother and watched Andrew coach his team to a 29–19 win.

Dungannon lifting the cup for the first time.

A brilliant moment.

Since I created my document in 2022, something fundamental has shifted for me.

The lid I had on what was possible has largely gone.

My awareness of what I can create has changed.

And as that has changed for me, it has changed for my clients.

What I see for them has expanded.

And part of my work is helping them see that for themselves.

As that happens, the limits they once believed in begin to loosen. Sometimes they disappear altogether.

We are always creating.

Sometimes consciously. Sometimes not.

But always creating.

A PhD defended.

A new path chosen.

A mountain climbed.

A team brought together and led to success.

Different stories. Same truth.

On a daily basis, I get to sit in conversations with people who are creating their lives.

Not always in big, dramatic ways.

Often in small, ordinary moments.

But those moments matter.

Because that is where life is lived.

Stories like these remind me of what’s possible.

They nudge me to show up more fully.

To create more intentionally.

Not just in the big moments.

But in the ordinary ones too.

There is a lot in the world that could have us feel worried or disheartened.

But this is what I keep coming back to.

We have the ability to create something meaningful in any moment.

And I’m just naïve enough to believe that if more of us did that, more often, the world would be and feel very different.

Much love

Peter
