I Know How Good It Will Be for Them
I was on a call last week with my client Manuela.
She recently transitioned from a 25-year career as a lawyer into coaching full-time.
The way she has approached that transition has been nothing short of inspirational … not least because of the work she has done, and continues to do, on herself.
I’ve had very few clients more committed to their growth.
And I have no doubt that will translate directly into the impact she has with her clients.
I can see her becoming one of the most sought-after coaches for corporate leaders in Switzerland.
Her practice is already building quickly.
During our call last week, she was talking about a new client she had just signed.
And then she said this:
“I know how good it will be for her.”
That landed immediately.
I loved the certainty in it.
Not hype. Not hope.
Certainty.
She wasn’t trying to convince me.
She was simply seeing something clearly- and speaking it.
She could already see the impact.
She could already feel the difference it would make.
She was being a stand for what was possible for her client.
And she spoke from that place.
If I’m honest, it took me years to get to that.
To see that clearly.
To speak like that.
And yet here she is, early in her journey, already standing in it.
And because of that, I have no doubt it will be very good for her client.
It got me thinking.
Where in my own life do I know something would make a difference, but don’t say it?
Where do I see possibility for someone, but hold back?
Because when I look at my own life, there are so many things I know have made a difference:
Better sleep- and the impact on my energy.
Coaching with Ankush over the last 5+ years.
Training consistently and using data from MyZone, Oura, InBody and VO2 max.
Being part of a small training group.
The Powerful Men’s Immersions.
The Magic 5.
Creating and living my document.
I could go on.
This isn’t about telling people what to do.
And it’s not about persuading anyone.
But it is about something else.
It’s about seeing clearly when something could genuinely make a difference for someone…and having the courage to say it.
To stand for it.
To speak it.
Because sometimes the most powerful thing you can do for someone is see clearly what’s possible for them and say it out loud.
They still get to decide.
But they can only choose from what they can see.
I was reminded of this a few years ago.
Towards the end of 2021, Ankush kept talking to me about an event in London, The Ultimate Experience.
I wasn’t interested.
In my mind, it wasn’t for me.
I had already decided I wasn’t going.
But he kept bringing it up.
Not pushing.
Not forcing.
Just clear.
He knew it would be good for me.
Eventually, something shifted.
I could see he meant it.
And I knew he had never steered me wrong, so I signed up and I went.
I can’t say that day changed my life, but I can say this:
It was the catalyst for a chain of events that completely changed the direction of my life.
Did Ankush know that would happen?
Probably not.
But he didn’t need to.
It was enough that he knew how good it would be for me.
Much love,
Peter
