Great Days That Lead to a Great Life
While I was in Scottsdale, Arizona recently, I attended a one-day workshop hosted by my coach, Ankush Jain, and his coach, Steve Chandler.
Ankush and I have been working together since November 2020. This week I sent him payment for our fifth year together.
Years one and two: building my coaching business.
Years three and four: creating and integrating my Document.
Year five? We’re going deeper … into who I really am and what’s truly possible.
And Steve Chandler?
One of the most influential coaches alive. Author of 40+ books. A master of simplicity, impact, and systems that work.
When these two men invited me into the room, there was no hesitation. I was in.
The Power of Systems
It was a masterclass.
Steve led the morning session on the power of systems … how they quietly shape everything in our lives. And how the wrong ones can quietly sabotage our best intentions.
Ankush took the afternoon, helping us coach through our real-world blocks … seen through the lens of systems.
But one insight hit me like a freight train:
“A great day and a great life are the same thing.”
Steve called it The Power of the Day .
He shared how, in the early days of his sobriety, his sponsor said:
“You don’t have to quit drinking forever. Just don’t drink today.”
That one system changed everything for him.
It wasn’t about some giant heroic leap. It was about stringing together powerful days.
A few powerful days = a powerful week.
A few powerful weeks = a powerful month.
A few powerful months = a powerful year.
It starts with today.
Not yesterday’s regrets. Not tomorrow’s worries. Just today , lived with intention.
You Already Have Systems … But Are You Running Them?
Here’s the truth: You already have systems running your life.
Some of them are working brilliantly. Others? Probably not so much.
Some you created consciously.
Others you inherited, built by accident, or picked up along the way.
Some are helping you grow.
But until you bring them into awareness, you’re not running them … they’re running you!
That was the shift for me.
Since the workshop, I’ve been looking with fresh eyes at my own systems:
The ones that energise me.
The ones that drain me.
The ones that need to be redesigned, retired, or replaced.
And I’m leaning deeper into this line from my Document:
“I am that I willingly and consistently embrace growth through change in any area of my life. ”
That’s the real work.
Not chasing big wins. But upgrading the systems that build the wins … one day at a time.
What About You?
If you’re an SME owner or leader, let me ask:
What systems are shaping how you lead, live, and show up?
What routines or assumptions have become invisible? Unquestioned?
Where are you saying “That’s just who I am” … when it might just be a system you haven’t challenged?
What if the next level of your business … your health … your relationships doesn’t require you to do more ?
What if it’s about upgrading the systems you’re already running?
Not someday. Not when things settle down. Today.
And that one day, repeated with intention, becomes everything.
If you’re ready for that kind of shift … the kind that starts now and compounds into something extraordinary …
Call me.
Let’s build your next great day … and your next great chapter … together.
Much love, Peter
