How to Lead Without Overthinking
I’m on a flight from Alicante to Belfast as I write this. Heading home after one of the most enjoyable months of my life.
Jules is with me, and I think she’d agree.
Portugal. India. Spain. Coaching clients, attending a wedding, and finishing the trip as guest speakers at Viva, a brilliant Three Principles event in Albir. Work and play flowed together beautifully.
There were so many moments I had to pinch myself.
The work I get to do.
The people I get to meet.
The life I get to live.
I’m deeply grateful.
And it all started with one small moment.
Years ago, I came across Michael Neill’s name in something Steve Chandler had written. I Googled him. Found his podcast Caffeine for the Soul. That led me to the 3PGC Conference in 2020. Then Jamie Smart’s Clarity Coach Training. Then to Ankush Jain. And the moment I discovered him, I knew he was going to be my coach.
Since then, I’ve done four apprenticeships with Ankush. Attended multiple immersions. Three career coaching schools. I’ve connected with an incredible mastermind group called The Magic Five.
I’ve worked with extraordinary clients. Travelled the world. Attended the kind of wedding I had only seen in films. Got involved with a mental health documentary through a chance lunch with Erik Thureson.
Looking back, it all feels surreal.
But here’s what jumps out today.
It all started with a nudge.
A small inner prompt to check out a podcast.
A breadcrumb. A whisper. A quiet “try this.”
At Viva, I heard Natasha Swerdloff talk about our internal navigation system. That deeper intelligence we all have access to.
Some call it intuition. Others call it wisdom. For me, it’s a quiet inner knowing. A sense of direction. A subtle nudge from something deeper … something we can all access.
But here’s the thing. Most business owners and leaders I speak to don’t talk about this.
We’re taught to think harder. Plan better. Make perfect decisions.
We live in our heads … our minds as busy as the photo at the top.
Always trying to get it right.
And I get it. I’m a recovering overthinker too.
But when I ignore that inner guidance and try to figure it all out in my head, everything feels heavier.
Decisions get slower.
Business becomes harder.
Life gets noisier.
But when I listen. When I follow that quiet sense of yes or no. Things tend to move.
More ease.
More clarity.
More progress.
So let me ask you:
- Are you carrying the pressure of every decision on your shoulders?
- Are you stuck in your head, trying to plan the perfect next step?
- Have you lost touch with the quiet voice that already knows?
Because that inner compass is there. Always.
And when you learn to trust it, everything shifts.
Business gets lighter.
Creativity opens up.
Leadership becomes clearer.

And if you’re tired of trying to figure it all out on your own …
If you’re ready to experiment with a different way of leading, living and creating …
Call me.
I may be able to help.
Much love,
